Summerville Presbyterian Church (USA)
New Member Dinners
Welcoming New Members
Summerville Presbyterian offers a unique opportunity for its new members to find their special place in a congregation filled with many activities and events.
New Member Dinners are held by the Evangelism Committee 2-3 times per year and all new members are invited to attend. The dinner consists of fellowship, a delicious meal, and an opportunity for the elders and sponsors to meet and greet each new member in a casual environment. This fosters one on one conversation that is often not possible on a busy Sunday morning, and allows new members to ask questions of the more seasoned members and staff. SPC offers so many activities including Bible study, a variety of children's ministries, and mission opportunities, that it is sometimes hard to know where to serve. One benefit of the new member dinner is being able to ask questions about your needs and interests and getting feedback from folks who are involved in the ongoing events. Not only do new members learn about our church, but all attendees get to know each other a little better and that helps to keep SPC known as "Ye Friendly Church".
Here are several pictures from recent dinners at SPC.
If you are a new member or a new member elder or sponsor, you are encouraged to RSVP "yes!" when your invitation arrives. The night of fellowship and food is one to remember!
Spotlight on KAIROS 2007
The KAIROS Cookie Challenge is an annual event that the SPC Church Family participates in. Along with the fellowship within the church, it helps to reach a group with very special needs and show them the wonder of God's Love. Read this article about KAIROS this year.
