Mission and Benevolence Ministry Team

The Mission and Benevolence Ministry Team at Summerville Presbyterian Church directs and organizes the events that lead us to the mission fields whether locally, nationally, or internationally.

We are directed as a church by God to; feed the hungry, cloth the naked, house the homeless, heal the sick and to teach in his name.

Some of the local, state, and national programs that SPC are involved with are:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Palmetto House
  • Harvest Home
  • Thanksgiving baskets for needy families in the local community
  • Help of Summerville
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Water Missions International
  • Prison and jail house ministries

Summerville Presbyterian Church also helps support two full time missionaries abroad (Brazil and Madagascar). Church members have been on disaster relief trips twice to Honduras (1999 & 2000), Grand Banks Bahamas(2001), the American Indian reservations of Oklahoma(2003), New Orleans(one trip 2006 and one trip 2007) and Gautier, Mississippi(2007).

The Mission and Benevolence Ministry Team is responsible for directing the church's resources to maximize our effect on satisfying the needs of God's children.
