Worship & Music Team

The Worship and Music Ministry Team serves SPC by striving to provide worship opportunities for our entire membership. We work together throughout the church year in creating music programs and worship services that not only promote the spiritual growth of our membership, but also provide opportunities for our membership to reach out to one another in God's name through word and song.

Key Ministry Tasks

The Worship and Music Ministry Team is regularly responsible for the following tasks:

  • Organizing and filling the schedules for each week for services in the Sanctuary
  • Organizing the worship services and decorating the sanctuary for seasonal events within the church year. Some of these events include Scottish Heritage, Advent, Lent, and Special services (Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, September 11th, etc.)
  • Providing music and musical outreach to serve the entire congregation with programs such as Adult Choir (traditional), Crazy for Christ (contemporary), Women's Choir (traditional and contemporary), Youth music (currently evolving), Bells (Adult, youth, child), Children's Choir, Special ensembles (brass, strings, woodwinds), and Individual presentations (piano)
  • Providing funding for special speakers serving during a worship service and ensuring payment of all substitutes when the minister, Director of Music and/or organist are unable to do so.
  • Providing musical outreach to the community through two annual Music of the Season events - one during Advent and one during Lent
  • Providing musical outreach to children in the congregation and within the community through annual Music and Drama Camp productions
  • Providing monthly communion to The Presbyterian Village

Volunteers

The Music and Worship Team works diligently to create meaningful worship services for everyone in our congregation. We would not be able to succeed without the help provided by members of our congregation. There are lots of ways to become a part of the worship services.
